Enloe
The First National Bank of Enloe
Enloe is in an unincorporated
area of Delta County, south of Paris off TX 24.
These two blocks of buildings face
each other in Enloe. There is no other downtown, and the First
National Bank would have been in here someplace. The Enloe State
Bank is still labeled.
The First National Bank of Enloe
was chartered number 6271 in 1902 and stopped printing money
in 1923.
Two notes are reported in the census,
a 1902 Red Seal and a 1902 Plain Back.
In January, 2012, the Red Seal
sold at the FUN Auction for $6,900.

In September, 2020, the exact same
note is offered at the Long Beach Expo Currency Auction.
Between 2012 & 2020, it has been returned to PMG and regraded,
going from a Choice Fine 15 to a Very Fine 20,
and this despite an obviously flawed reverse.

"Enloe, TX - $20 1902
Red Seal Fr. 639 The First National Bank Ch. # (S)6271 PMG
Very Fine 20.
A great note from one of the rarest of Texas communities, with
this northeast Texas locale represented by only two notes - a
single Blue Seal which, after appearing in the Everson and Ivy
collection auctions, has disappeared since its last appearance
in 2001 - and the Red Seal we are offering tonight. Last on the
market in our 2012 FUN auction, it's the only note to be offered
from this charter since the last appearance of the aforementioned
Blue Seal. It is a pleasing, pen signed $20 with bright inks
and unblemished surfaces. A great note for the North Texas specialist."
