By 1914, there are two banks in Kilgore.

The Kilgore State Bank joins the Federal Reserve System in 1920

On April 16, 1925 the bank was granted a national bank charter as The Kilgore National Bank.
F. D. Oberthier, continuing as President, relinquishes the job of Cashier to J. B. Oberthier,

P. E. Barton,
Vice President of the Kilgore State Bank, apparently does not continue.

Before both the Oberthiers leave The Kilgore National Bank, there is a period when the early 1929 Type I's
were signed by F. D. Oberthier as President and by the Cashier
L. N. Crim.

After both Oberthiers leave, the signing officers are Geo.Hayes, Cashier, and W. B. Jacobs, President.
