The Murchison Bank of Athens
Throughout the National Bank period,
the FNB's four Presidents were all Murchisons:
T. F. Murchison
D. R. Murchison
J. W. Murchison
T. F. Murchison
The bank was chartered in 1890,
and the first President was
T. F. Murchison.

The Cashier was Geo. M. Wofford.
B. W. J. Wofford is George
M. Wofford's father.
T. F. Murchison died in 1902, and
he was succeeded by his son
D. R. Murchison
D. R. died in 1914 of diabetes
at age 55. He had six children, inluding 3 sons,
but his younger brother
J. W. Murchison
became the next President of the
bank.
The fourth Murchison President was
J. W.'s first son, the second
T. F. Murchison
