Painted Lady
Vanessa cardui
"The painted lady is the most
widely distributed butterfly in the world, occurring on all of
the continents except Anarctica and Australia ... Its wings are
orange, often with a rosy pink blush, and they are patterned
with black. Small white spots dot the dark tip of the forewing,
and a row of dark spots borders the hindwing ..."
The Painted lady is similar to
the American Painted Lady.
