The Hackberry Emperor is "Olive
brown or gray brown, with dark pattern. Whitish spots on outer
forewing and row of eyespots on hindwing above. Round dark eyespot
near outer margin of forewing both above and below."
The "Tawny emperor is richer
orange, brown; lacks eyespot on the forewing above and below."
