Clouded/Orange Sulphur

Colias philodice/eurytheme

This appears to be the hybrid Clouded/Orange Sulphur.

"Silvered spot in center of HW. Black borders of FW above can be seen in flight and through the wing." (Butterflies through Binoculars: The East, Plate 6)

"... clear lemon-yellow with no orange patches. Both sexes have black FW border above but females have yellow spots within the border. Orange Sulphur has at least some orange above. Some female Clouded and Orange sulphurs lack the yellow and/or orange pigments and are off-white with the usual black pattern." (Butterflies through Binoculars: The East, p. 56)
