One of the best things now in Bastrop is

Billy's BBQ.

The First National Bank of Bastrop was chartered 4093 in 1889 and continued printing until 1935.
The census reports just ten notes: two Brown Backs, one 1902 Date Back, three 1902 Plain Backs, three 1929 Type 1's, and one 1929 Type 2.

This Plain Back sold in a Heritage Auction in August 2010 for $2,300.

There was a second bank in Bastrop, but it was not a National Bank
