The First National Bank of Lovelady (Chater #8742) was the only bank in town. It was chartered in June, 1907 and remained in business until 1935. The bank printed $111,010: 1902 Red Seals, Date backs and Plain Backs plus 1929 Type 1 $10's & $20's. Umtil the summer of 2016, there were no known bills of the 1902 series and only three from 1929: two $20's & one $10. Now, there is at least one 1902 Plain Back reported. In April, 2017, a fourth 1929 Type 1 was reported and sold at the CSNS auction in Illinois. In late 2021, a second 1902 Plain Back, a $10 note, was discovered. That is the one listed here.
