Jacob J. Embry
(August 20, 1874 - June 22, 1957)

Embry is President of the First
National Bank of Lovelady, but his residence in the 1920 census
is
2106 Fannin Street, Houston, Texas.
He seems never to have actually resided in Lovelady.
Jacob J. Embry was born in Kentucky,
and in 1880, at age 5,
he was living with his parents &
four siblings in Ellis County, Texas.
In 1900,
Embry was living with his maternal
grandmother in "Lexington City", Kentucky,
where he received a degree from The University of Kentucky, Lexington,
in 1897.
Married, and back in TX, in Wharton,
in 1910,
Embry is a "Farmer Retired".
Then following a
20 year residency in Houston, during which, Embry was
President of the First National Bank of Lovelady,
in 1930,
Embry moved to Dallas, TX, to continue
as a bank examiner.
Finally, in 1940,
Embry is a bank Vice President in
Shreveport, LA.
Embry had banking interests throughout
the state.
In 1957, he was laid
to rest in Shreveport.
