First National Bank of Menard
opened in 1911 with charter number
10044

It closed in 1914, when it was absorbed
by
William Bevan's Bank of Menard

Given its short life, and its small
size, there was likely no time nor money to create a large building
like that of the Bank of Menard.
This building has the appearance
of a bank, though there is no inscription naming it as one,
and it appears to be of the appropriate age, ca. 1911,
and it is small.
Since 1919, there has been still
a third
bank in Menard.
