Ike Ain't No Senator's Son,
But there's no way Ike is joining
the army.

On June 5, 1917, Ike affirms that
he was born on September 28, 1896, is 21 years of age, and that
he is hard of hearing and thus exempt from the draft.
In 1941, Ike affirms that he was
born in 1895,
not 1896, and is thus 46 years of age, not 45. That matters
because anyone who is 45 is "immediately liable for induction"
in the draft. If you are 46, you are exempt, hard of hearing
or not.
