Stillwater Clubtail
Arigomphus lentulus
Abbott (182) writes that "This
is a smaller pale-greenish-gray species ... Habitat. Semipermanent
and artificial ponds, lakes and slow areas of streams with muddy
bottoms ... the males typically perch ... on open shorelines."
Sidney W. Dunkle, Dragonflies
through Binoculars (99) writes "Thorax mostly grayish
yellow-green with both brown shoulder stripes equally developed.
Abdomen has yellow-green rings on S3-S6, except in some females.
S7-S9 brown, S8 usually darkest, and S10 pale. Eyes gray-blue,
thighs and shins pale."
This specimen is a good match to Dunkle's photo in Plate 14.
