Phaon Crescent
Phyciodes phaon
"The phaon crescent looks
much like the pearl crescent, with which it often shares its
habitats; however, it can be identified by the pale cream band
across the forewing. The pearl crescent is orange above with
black markings. The phaon crescent has a broad black band across
the middle of the forewing above, followed outwardly by the cream
colored band and then an orange one."
This is its ventral
side.
