Olive Hairstreak

Mitoura grynea

"The small, tailed olive hairstreak can be confused with no other butterfly in the Houston area. Dark brown above, it has lighter rust-colored patches that are more extreme in the spring brood than in the summer. The hindwings beneath are rich apple-green, with two white marks near the base and an irregular white line edged inwardly with reddish brown."
