Horace's Duskywing
Erynnis horatius
"It is by far the most common
duskywing in Houston and the surrounding area."
"Horace's duskywing is dark
brown above, the male more uniformly colored than his mate and
with very little pattern contrast. The female displays a much
more dramatic array of large translucent spots and dark markings.
Both sexes lack the two round, pale spots on the underside of
the hindwing that distinguish Juvenal's duskywing."
