Hoary Edge Skipper

Achalarus lyciades

I had previously identified this as a Silver-Spotted Skipper, but I have been corrected. The white on the Hoary Edge Skipper borders the hindwing, as on this specimen. The Silver-Spotted Skipper has the white in the center of the hind wing.

This, is the dorsal view.

This, finally, is the Silver-spotted Skipper.

Jeffrey Glassberg (149-150), "A large dark skipper with a conspicuous white patch on the margin of the HW below. Silver-spotted Skipper has more angled wings and its silver spot is in the middle of the HW below."
