Everes comyntas

"Everes comyntas is one of the most abundant butterflies in many portions of the eastern United States ... Males are lavender-blue above ... Below, both sexes are pale grayish white with distinct black spots. Two large orange spots ornament the outer margin of the hindwing near the base of the tail."

Females can have a "brown color" to the dorsal wings. (Glassberg, p. 92)
