Although Tveten insists that Red-Tailed Hawks are the default hawk in this part of Texas, I keep seeing more of the Red-Shouldered ones like the above. I had just sat down to watch the area around one of the ponds, when this one (of a pair) perched to my right about 40 feet in the air.
