Common Raven
Corvus corax
American Crow
Corvus brachyrhynchos
The contrast here is the size &
bulk of the Raven with the smaller and more lithe Crows. The hayring
provides a common scale to measure the difference.
I think that onc can also see a contrast in the bills. The Raven
has a more massive beak & the Crows have a smaller beak.
It may not be significant, but there appear to be different habits
of perching. The Raven squats like a hawk while the Crows stand
like a sparrow.
