This bird has just two diagnostic features that I can see: A thrasher-like bill & a mottled-colored back. Neither comes together to identify a known bird.
This is the sole picture of this individual.

Given the location,
It could be a Brown Thrasher, but the pattern on the back is wrong.
It might be a Northern Flicker, but the bill seems exaggeraed.

Taken with a Nikon D90 using Nikon 300mm, f/2.8 manual focus lens at a distance of approximately 90 feet.
