Eastern Kingbird
Tyrannus tyrannus
"It is black above and white
below, with a white terminal band on the black tail ... It occurs
abundantly along the coast. It also remains to nest in the eastern
and northern portions of Texas ..."
The white band across the end of
the tail is clear.
The Eastern Kingbirds appear in
early April and are in abundance from May until the first half
of July. Then they disappeared only to return in lesser numbers
in August.
