Carolina Wren
Thryothorus ludovicianus
"... long and slightly curved
bill ... rusty back, rich buff underparts, and prominent white
eye stripe ... Carolina wrens reside year-round in the eastern
two-thirds of Texas ..."
This shows the contrast
between the tails of the Carolina Wren and the Bewick's Wren.
This shows the contrast
between the Carolina Wren and the Marsh Wren.
The Carolina Wrens seem to prefer
man made structures (tire wells, under the hoods of tractors,
barn rafters, etc.), while the House Wrens frequent more distant
fence rows.
