Carolina Chickadee

Carolina carolinensis

" ... the black cap and bib framing white cheeks clearly mark it as a chickadee ... At about four and one-half inches in length, the Carolina chickadee is slightly smaller than its northern counterpart and lacks the white feather edgings on the wings ... The lower edge of the black bib is also less "ragged" and more sharply marked."

These seem to be year-round birds.
