Green Beans with Caramelized Onions

 

Ingredients:

3 Handsful of fresh green beans.
1 medium-large onion. Vidalia, Nazca, or sweet.
3 Pieces of bacon or
4 Oz. of sausage.

Directions:

Cook the bacon (or sausage). Cut the bacon into small pieces. Set aside.

Add the onions to the skillet and caramelize in the grease from the bacon (or sausage).

Trim the ends of the beans and section into 1 1/2 inch lengths.

Boil water and cook the beans for 5 minutes. Remove and pour cold water over them to stop their cooking.

Add the beans and the bacon (or sausage) to the skillet with the onions.

Warm and serve.

Serving: About 2 to 3 with these amounts.

Notes:

I use a mild onion with this. I used most of the onion pictured in the "Ingredients".

Everyone seems to like it.

You can adjust and change the ingredients as you want.

You can do this recipe with broccoli, cauliflower, etc.
