James Samuel Rea, Jr.
(October 4, 1889 - October 30, 1942)
Rea's mother was Elizabeth Rembert,
younger sister of Frank Rembert
Frank Rembert came to Longview
in 1877, and married a Texan. James S. Rea, Sr. and Ellizabeth
Rembert married in Mississippi.
They had ten children between 1880 and 1898 before they migrated
from Copiah Cty. Mississippi to Longview.
In 1917, J. S. Rea, Jr. is working
in his uncle's dry goods store.
In 1930, Rea is Cashier at his
uncle's bank. He lives in a $3,500 home next door to Rembert
M. Rea, a brother 10 years younger than he, and who is Teller
at the Bank living in a $4,500 home.
