"First National Bank of Jacksonville, TX, Charter #5581. 1882 $20 Second Charter Date Back, Fr-555, VF-XF. In terms of richness and paper quality, this lovely second charter note merits a full XF rating. Only the unevenly cut lower margin keeps it from that level. Delicate pen signatures are still very much in evidence. Save for a brief one-year period from 1903 to 1904, this East Texas town in Cherokee County had but one national bank. Only nine large size notes are reported in Kelly, with a Value Back of the same denomination being represented in the Irish Collection. Ex: Everson Collection (Lyn F. Knight, 2/97), lot 1521."
J. P. Douglas signs as Assistant Cashier, apparently stepping in for C. F. Boles And Wesley Love signs as Vice President, probably replacing A. G. Adams
