Joseph Lyman Burton

In 1917, Burton is a single, self-employed lumberman.

By 1930, he is married and is Assistant Cashier at the First National Bank of Crockett.

In 1940, The Depression has dropped the value of Burton's house from $6,000 to $2,500.
He is no longer Cashier. He is a Teller.
He has a second wife.

By 1950, Burton has risen to be President of the bank, where he remains until 1968.
