A landing at Bella Coola.
The airport is oriented east-west,
as is the valley. When the weather was good the planes would fly
in from the west past the airport and turn to land going west,
as this plane is. In good weather, that was the direction the
wind came from.
Of course, this meant that the plane
would have to do a 180º turn within the confines of the narrow
valley. That was always an exciting conclusion to the flight.
